    Under the supervision of the Director, Human Resources and Training & Development, the Senior Advisor of Human Resources has responsibility for administration of the employee benefits for the Company. This position provides support of the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources department, including support for recruitment, special projects, monthly reporting, employee relations, payroll processing, and other administrative tasks as needed.

    Benefits Administration

     

    • Responsible for daily administration of employee benefits in all company operations.
    • Provides special guidance and assistance to all employees on various employee benefit plans.
    • Assists in the development of cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employee.
    • Counsels employees regarding benefit and human resource questions and issue
    • Provides benefits information to new hires and monitors timely enrollment.
    • Develops and administers the Company Wellness Program
    • Prepares employee census information for insurance, 401(k), and other reports.
    • Prepares documentation and communications for annual benefits open-enrollment and manages the open enrollment process.
    • Maintains relationships with all benefits vendor partners.
    • Prepare and process bi-weekly 401(k) employee contributions: process all loan distribution requests.

    Attraction & Retention

    • Assists Retail stores with use of iCIMS applicant tracking system, to include internal and external posting of open positions on job boards and careers website.
    • Conducts initial screening interviews.
    • Responsible for pre-employment process for prospective employees. Processes credit/criminal background screenings and monitors drug testing results.
    • Coordinates new hire paperwork and monitors completion for legal compliance.
    • Prepares monthly reports: New Hire, Termination, Service Anniversary/ Employee Birthday and Turnover
    • Supports the administration of the 90-day performance review process.
    • Counsels new-hires on benefits selection and policies & procedures as part of the on-boarding process
    • Prepares offer letters and completion of new-hire onboarding process.
    • Conducts new hire on-boarding meetings new employees focusing on benefit orientation and enrollment.

    Payroll Processing

    • Serves as back-up for payroll processing. Assists with payroll processing as needed.
    • Documents payroll procedures and other internal HR processes and procedures.

    Other

    • Provides written and verbal employment verifications
    • Provides assistance with coordination of training classes or meetings
    • Assists with preparation of special events
    • Monitors annual receipt of acknowledgment of employee policies and procedures and IDPs
    • Complete annual EEO1 filing
    • Monitors for compliance in all areas of human resources
    • Communicates monthly birthday and anniversary events
    • Administers services awards on a monthly basis
    • Supports the Director with the annual Elite Recognition progra
    • Maintains paper employee files
    • Assists the Director with additional projects
    • Coordinates placement of temp staffing and maintains relationship with various agencies.
    • This position requires the ability to communicate with all levels of employees as it relates to company programs, policies and procedures.
    • This position routinely communicates with internal and external contacts such as brokers, employment agencies and vendor partners.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    A.    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

    B.   EXPERIENCE

    • Five years to eight years of human resource experience

    C.    SKILLS

    • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.
    • High level of proficiency with MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
